I like "local" restaurants and Steamboat is about as local as they come. Very beat up and old but everything is just as you expect it in these types of places. Lots of atmosphere and prices are very reasonable. Try the trademark small tenderloin "Tugboat" or the bigger version....breaded or un-breaded. The onion rings are great too....

If this was not a long time established local restaurant, and it was just starting out, I am not sure it would make it in today's restaurant wars. Food was average, atmosphere is local. Owner treats everyone that comes in as they were long lost friends, you just don't see that anymore; don't stop. Definitely confused as what this is...

This is a restaurant we visit every time we are in Waterloo. Tugboat Tuesday is a must!! The pork tenderloins are very good. The onion rings and appetizer sampler was pretty good too.

The wait staff is great tgere and they always have a great special of the day. The food is cheep in price when ordering the special. The food is alright for the price. If your looking for a cheep meal out then it is a good place over all. If spending more money i would recomend else wheres.
