Stanton Hall, also known as Belfast, is an Antebellum Classical Revival mansion in Natchez, Mississippi built during 1851-1857 for Frederick Stanton, a cotton broker. It occupies a full block on High Street between Pearl and Commerce Streets in Natchez and is operated as a historic house museum by the Pilgrimage Garden Club.Reportedly, a chartered ship was used to transport the moldings, marble...
This palatial mansion is one of the most impressive of antebellum America. There is an enormous entry hall and gilded French mirrors line the parlor. It is furnished with antiques and many of the original pieces from the family.
I had chicken livers and the salad. The salad was excellent. The livers dish was okay. The decor was not what I had expected. Looked more like a cafeteria dining room than a historic restaurant in a historic town.

I told this to a local shopkeeper, she made a phone call and assured me they would be open on Tuesday during Pilgrimage. We toured Stanton Hall...
It is beautiful with cloth table cloths and napkins. Food was fantastic. Best Pecan Cobbler if have every tasted.

My dad lived the fried chicken, which they're known for; my husband lived the crispy pork shanks, and the best meal I had while in Natchez was the shrimp and grits!! The sauce was delicious!!...
Stanton Hall was built in 1858 on an entire city block and is today listed as an official National Historic Landmark. In addition to serving as a venue for weddings and special events, the historic property is home to the Carriage House Restaurant and daily tours are given of the home with hostesses dressed in antebellum costumes.
N 1858, Frederick Stanton built the home of his dreams for his family on his new property - an entire city block of Natchez, Mississippi. The city block cost about $1,550. The house cost over $83,000 before it was even furnished. Carrera Marble, mahogany doors 2 1/2 inches thick, candeliers from France, and Italian statuary appointed the interior. Huge Corinthian columns and granite steps...
