This lovely cathedral is well worth taking the time to visit. While not large, it is meticulously and beautifully decorated with icons and paintings.
Great exerience for Orthodox people in the SE US on epiphany combined with the throwing of the cross in the sponge docks makes a nice trip to Tarpon.
After seeing a photo of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, Florida, we made a special trip to see it. What a beautiful church. It was open during the day and we were allowed to walk around and see all the wonderful art work. Worth the trip!
The outside appearance of St Nicholas will never give you an idea of the impressive interior. The stain glass windows, the wall paintings, the iconography and the simple but beautiful design, make this cathedral well worth it to visit.
