This was a favorite diner spot for breakfast and lunch in Lamorinda, with the same family running the restaurant for many, many years. Because they owned the building, they were able to keep costs down for their customers but provided a great experience and delicious food in their genre for their loyal following throughout the years. They also were terrific...

Typical diner fare, perfect when you want a home cooked meal but don't have the time to cook. Great place for breakfast Unfortunately, and for reasons unknown since the place was always packed, the restaurant closed in 2013.

Actually, have never eaten there which is too bad because as of last weekend, this establishment closed. So this is not a review but an FYI.

It's good food in its own right at Squirrels - but if you
are willing to make the effort, hop on the 24 to Walnut
Creek and go to 'Hubcap's' for a really great breakfast!

The Squirrel's is an old-fashioned, diner-style coffee shop with prices in line with another generation. It features comfortable booths around the outer walls and stools surrounding the central service island. The menu features traditional large breakfasts and diner fare, and the prices are low.
