Thank you for kind words about Bertha Doughtery. I first knew who she was in 1949. She was a quilter at The First Methodist Church. She was also an amazing cook. "Granny" was her name to many, many students who went to SISD. People did not miss her "Bulletin". With three Doughery girls in school, she kept up with everything. She wore her hair braided in a bun at the nap of her neck rolled up...
