Spring's interior design is meant to enhance the dining experience. Juxtaposing the historical aspects of the space with sleek, organic materials, designer Francois Geneve created an inviting and timeless atmosphere. To pay homage to the former use of the space, a turn of the century bathhouse, Geneve focused on keeping many of the existing design elements. Spring restaurant enforces the Zen...
Spring has attracted national attention since it opened, but you come here for the food, not the scene. Chef Shawn McClain focuses on seafood prepared with pan Asian influences. The setting is serene, from the Zen garden you’ll see upon entering to the white glazed walls to the banquettes that zig-zag the length of the restaurant.
Chicago is a big meat town, everyone knows that. But until recent years the city wasn't known for its charcuterie. This Seafood restaurant combines both Asian and American influences in the meals. The food is delicious! The Grilled Hawaiian Prawns and the Scallops were scrumptious! The zen garden is amazing for a romantic setting and the service is top?

Chef Shawn McClain is one of Chicago's culinary celebrities, and Spring -- his first restaurant -- attracted national attention when it opened in 2001. Located in a former Russian bathhouse, the space is...
The food was just okay; i went in expecting gourmet portions, but the servings seemed like sample sizes. THe fish was very fresh, however. I recommend the Ahi Tuna Steak TartareI would go back for a drink at the bar. Wine was expensive, but very good--the Maderia was superb. Also, the bathrooms and decor overall was very soothing and modern.
One of my favorite restuarants! Must have a reservation for weekend dining, but well worth the effort.
