Help us make it rightSpasso's food utilizes high-quality local and specially imported ingredients. The varied menu includes rustic fare such as hand rolled pastas, house cured meats and flawlessly baked breads.
"Innovative" Italian fare and "excellent" wines come via "friendly" staffers at this slightly "sceney" West Villager; locals who note it becomes "loud and tight" at prime times "hope it doesn't get more popular" – prices "on the expensive side" may keep crowds in check.
Craig Wallen is out as the executive chef at Spasso, Bobby Werhane's West Village Italian spot. Taking his place is Ed Carew, most recently executive chef at Le Caprice, the now-shuttered restaurant at The Pierre Hotel in the space now occupied by Sirio. Arctic char for two and a glass of house vino makes for a great affordable date.

So far, folks have been weighing in with their thoughts, not just on...
