In addition to baby back barbecued ribs, blackened and fried seafood and enormous steaks and chops, you get your choice of corn fritters, steak fries, baked beans, corn on the cob, baked potatoes and a dessert bar. Beer is served up in massive ice chilled urns and the waitresses just fly to keep you up to your elbows in hot food. Several microbrews and domestic beers are on tap. A free shuttle...
Located on the banks of Campbell Creek, this thoroughly Alaska original is housed in a reproduced millhouse and surrounded by flower boxes made from converted gold dredge buckets big enough to sit in, if they were empty. Step through the doors and enter a “mine shaft” of rock and wood, pass by a grizzly bear (properly stuffed), and discover a huge dining room featuring an array of mining tools....
Went there recently (their off season, when the locals go) for dinner. Hadn't eaten at Sourdough in probably ten-plus years but my parents like it so that's where we went for a family dinner. We enjoy our meal every time we dine here. The food is always very good. Gotta have the corn fritters of course! The ribs are very tender and the sauce they provide is just right. The meals, the service are always consistent. The prices are consistently a bit steep, but you mostly get what you pay for.
We had a good visit in an informal atmosphere with an ok server that could not seem to keep up with keeping enough tea in the glasses. The Alaskan chowder with flat bread was filling and hot.
Great Alaskan atmosphere and good food. Be warned that they have Alaskan-sized portions. Seniors can often order one meal and split it!
Cosy place which had put together a nice buffet to accommodate the needs of our party of approx 40 persons.
Serves excellent beer

No sonner were the doors open, than visions grew...and with that so did the menu and the name. No longer Sourdough Barbecue, we remain a locally owned and family run establishment catering to the needs of other families. We can accommodate all groups - large or small,...
