The atmosphere is hip yet casual at this new spot on busy Farwell Avenue, just north of up-and-coming Brady Street. For an even more casual meal, eat in the bar (at one of four...
I enjoyed going to Sol Fire for their Breakfast Burrito several times until the last time I went. The service has always been spotty, often with one waiter covering the whole dining room for brunch, although mostly tolerable it just meant a longer wait for drinks, or service.
This last time I went to get brunch was the worst brunch experience I have ever had anywhere. Again, one waiter taking care of the whole dining room. We waited nearly a half-hour for a cup of coffee. We were asked what we wanted to eat nearly 45 minutes after sitting down while the waiter ran between tables. We...
We arrived at the restaurant on a Friday night to find an empty bar and dining area. The atmosphere was just dead. We soon found out why. Our extremely young and inexperienced server took ages to get our drink order, and when we were ready to order our food, he kept disappearing mid-order! He didn't know much about the menu and constantly had to consult someone in the kitchen regarding any questions we had. One of our party was allergic to cilantro, and when a dish was ordered without it, it took 10 minutes for them to figure out if this was possible. When the meal was delivered, the...
Their brunch menu is very interesting and very different to the other offerings in Milaukee. It is a fun, hip yet casual restaurant where a good time is guaranteed.

This was my first time eating at Sol Fire. It was Tuesday night around 7pm and the restaurant was empty with the exception of one other couple. I went with the Argentinian Hanger Steak, and my partner chose the Chili Gulf Shrimp. Upon ordering my steak I was surprised when the waitress did not ask for my choice of how done I wanted the meat, however with the look of the menu I assumed the chefs knew what they...

Mojitos are stunning--minty, but not overpowering, and ever-so-smooth. For something sweeter, try the raspberry vodka-spiked Social, named after the nearby club.
Flourless chocolate cake is spiked with a hint of chipotle peppers. Odd, but the touch of chili is the perfect complement to the sweetness of the chocolate.
