Help us make it rightSmo-King Pit Barbecue was founded in 1997 by Michael and Michele Citchens in a small town in Peoria Heights right next to the city of Peoria. At the time, the restaurant was called Citchen's Cafe. The original restaurant served catfish, tenderloin, and club sandwiches.
We have eaten here numerous times and have never left hungry! The food is unbelievably good we have tried almost everything on the menu and it's all great! The service is also consistently good. This is hands down my favorite place to eat anywhere.
This place has the most delicious food, amazing friendly service, and a beautiful peaceful atmosphere. Extremely affordable too. The pulled pork sandwich with fries & green beans is my favorite. Not only is the food amazing, but every employee I've ever encountered at this wonderful place has been kind, sweet and genuine. Perfect!! Don't miss it!
Kind of a hole in the wall little place tucked in an obscure corner of the mall, but had really good food. Just the right amount of heat, thin sweet & spicy sauce was excellent. Wonderful food and bbq sauce is special - Mike's recipe. Friendly staff, generous portions and very affordable. The beef brisket is incredible. Our family loves going here - one of our alltime favorites - very family friendly too. Nice and clean too.
