A sushi chef in Hailey, Idaho recommended Shige as the best place to actually eat sushi and not just fried fish in a roll with cream cheese. They have a small selection of cold sakis and when I asked the chef what he would recommend for sashimi, he chose what was fresh. I wouldn't say it was the most artful...

Seriously nasty food and bad service. After asking for a spoon for my soup she said to slurp it from the bowl. I can live with bad service but nasty stinky fish is NOT acceptable. Do yourself a favior and avoide this place

Shige is one of the most established Japanese Restaurants in Boise. Yesterday, my wife and my mother-in-law ordered unagi-don and beef sukiyaki, respectively.
