Don't let my 5-star rating make you think of haughty servers, starched white linen tablecloths, and haute cuisine. The servers are friendly, the tablecloths are black (and the booth tables are uncovered). and the food is plain american. But the ingredients are first-class, and the preparation is excellent. Given the small nature of the town, this might be the best there is... we got a little bit unlucky by catching them understaffed, so service was quite slow. We picked this restaurant to celebrate our 39th anniversary based on reviews on tripadvisor. First the good: the food was excellent. I had a rack of lamb and my wife had the medallion of elk. The bad; the service was mediocre at best, maybe even poor. The service was not commensurate with the prices. The drinks were not kept full....
