Chef-owner Stephanie Izard has put together a tidy and terrific restaurant, one that has a sense of self. Scylla was the nymph turned sea monster in Greek mythology that terrorized mariners along a channel in the Mediterranean. From that springboard we splash into quite a seafood catch, and all is quite good. Appetizers include a topnotch grilled baby octopus salad with white beans, arugula and...
The food was absolutely amazing for what looks to be a neighborhood restaurant from the outside. Decor was nice, sort of hip. Service was very good, but at times a little overly friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. It's a shame they're closing at the end of the month, especially because it apparently is by choice, and not not by necessity.
Wow, what a sleeper. Earns every bit of it's rating and more. No question, seafood is the specialty and it will not disappoint. Its all good, no matter what you order. Service was excellent. One of the very best in Chicago.

Seafood
For some succulent seafood, head down to Scylla. Though named after a mythical sea monster, a warm and welcoming ambience awaits guests at this unpretentious restaurant. Vibrant colors, brick walls and modern art influences define its chic interiors. The varied menu, which has a Mediterranean influence, includes dishes, such as Grilled Shrimp and Wrapped Baby Octopus Salad. Instrumental jazz...
