My 14 yr old son tried to kill himself 4 years ago. We had no idea he was at risk. Thankfully, the substance that he thought was poisonous, was not. We tried to find help, but the mental health providers were not able to see us on short notice. THANK GOD for Dr. Schoonmaker. His staff got us in immediately. We were whisked past a waiting room with many ahead of us. Dr Shoomaker took time talking to our son and us, we did not feel rushed. He was nurturing, but firm while talking to our son. What more could you ask for?

Let me tell you. We moved to Arizona and just recenlty returned after being gone 5 years. My husband and I were both patients of Dr. Schoonmaker before we left. We tried and tried to find a physician that just even came close to Dr. S. We would find a doctor and as soon as we got comfortable they were either trying to change prescriptions, change dosages, or discontinue one or all completely. To say the least, it was very very upsetting. I would be willing to say that in the 5 years that we spent in Arizona we probably went through at least 6 or 7...
