Great place to visit and learn about the history of the SFFD. Be sure to visit the station next door for a tour.

Editorial review from Citysearch

Los Angeles has a fire museum, but we haven't had our entire city burn down 3x. So I imagine it isn't as interesting. I'll have to go sometime to compare. The SF one is really good. You'll spend about an hour but see what it was like rebuilding a city after destruction and how fire safety and the men who fought the fires have evolved.
