When the moon hits your eye, make a reservation at my favorite Italian restaurant in New York City. Sambuca not only has delicious dinner food, but their newly renovated space is extremely family friendly, particularly with their portion sizes. Ah, that’s amore.

Massive family-sized platters of traditional Italian food contribute to the homey atmosphere of this Upper West Side restaurant.

Sambuca Restaurant Review

It's nice to see such an unpretentious, down-to-earth, genuinely family-friendly spot in Manhattan. It's even nicer to find out that it serves authentic, hearty Italian fare in extra-generous portions. Starters include sizzling garlic shrimp and eggplant rollatini. For the pasta dishes, you pick your pasta and sauce, coming up with the combination that suits you. We recommend the penne with...

Editorial Review by Marcella Veneziale

There is really only one thing that matters about The Ribbon: the noise – the throbbing, conversation-killing, headache-inducing noise. And, I say this as someone who went for an early brunch, not a Saturday night dinner and as someone who sat in the relatively quiet back. If you do not mind noise, then in my view the restaurant is physically appealing, the food is nice enough and the service...

I'd return to have drinks and some food at the bar. Super salty so choose your food carefully.

We were seated immediately upon arrival and given a table in the back where it is much less noisy. The wines recommended were fabulous and all our food was cooked gourmet, good taste, great veggies, creative combinations.

The Profile Page for this restaurant is brought to you by the DiningGuide.com service. Trattoria Sambuca is located in New York.

Serving traditional, family-style Italian fare, Sambuca is kid-friendly and great for large parties. The menu features tasty dishes such as mozzarella in carroza, fried calamari, pasta bolognese, chicken scarpariello, and veal chop milanese. The dining rooms are very dark (as dark as you will find on the Upper West Side), the staff is very attentive, and the portions are -- you guessed it --...
