If you're looking for some unpretentious Greek food, head straight to Salonica on East 57th. The restaurant menu has a good selection of Greek specialties on offer with something for everyone. The interior is fairly humble and not much to talk about. Food is the obvious highlight here with a number of loyal clientele swearing by the fare on offer. A good spot for Greek food.

Food arrived much quicker than the time quoted and was delicious. The only reason I am withholding that 5th star is the menu available through GrubHub did not list what the daily soups are so I was expecting Lemon Rice (that is the usual Friday soup).

Fast delivery, even though they gave the delivery guy the wrong address! :( But he called me and still got here fast with hot gyros and their delicious lemon rice cream soup, one of my favorites on a cold winter night. Reliably good food, good value, every time!

Salonika is the best that you can find in Hyde Park for regular American diner food at somewhat reasonable prices. They have good breakfast, soups, and meat dishes...especially greek meat dishes. Also try their fried chicken.
