Located in the heart of Memphis' Little Vietnam neighborhood, Saigon Le offers an impressive menu of traditional Vietnamese food and a few Chinese options. The atmosphere is laid-back inside the nondescript storefront, so leave your Sunday… Read More
Saigon Le is a standout among Memphis’ Little Vietnam area restaurants. Especially beloved are the bird’s nest egg rolls (a shrimp and pork egg roll served with vegetables and fish sauce). Soups feature all the traditional offerings, including several varieties of beef pho. There are plenty of meat-heavy dishes, such as sliced beef tenderloin with lemon grass and vermicelli. Vegetarians revel...
Owner and sometime-chef Hoa Nguyen displays not only a thorough knowledge of Vietnam's traditional cuisine, but also the instinct and the impulse to improve upon it. The restaurant is pleasantly indeterminate, and service can be brusque. A meal that starts with the bird's nest egg rolls and goes on to green lip mussels in French butter and oyster sauce, startlingly fresh jellyfish salad,...
A popular lunch spot, Saigon Le is in an urban neighborhood close to the medical-center district and is popular with hospital workers. Friendly service and generous portions of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes are the standards here. The kung pao beef is spicy, and the vegetable egg foo yong is plump with vegetables. Saigon Le's Vietnamese specialties include flavorful noodle, meat, fish, and...

Cá Chiên Giòn Chua Ngọt. It’s fried, salty catfish in a tomato sauce, and it’s terrific. Amusingly, our server tried to discourage me from ordering it. “It’s much better with black bean sauce!” she insisted, but I stood firm, and was glad that I did...

Saion Le is a really good Vietnamese restaurant. Their pho (beef - chicken soup does not evoke a pho experience) is one of the best pho anywhere. The plaques on the wall said it all. Saigon Le had been chosen as the Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Memphis not only once, but a few times. I looked for my favorite dish Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup. They didn't have it in the menu, even though the menu had a bunch of stuff I never hear of before. I...
Sesame fish, Ginger tofu, beef pho, Saigon egg rolls. .... the list goes on! We used to eat at Pho Vietnam on Poplar, but was disappointed when they shut down without warning!
Please, EAT HERE!
Read other reviews and still tried this place. Went at lunch and it was very good. service was a little slow but was adequate. Had the egg rolls and tried one of their soups. I will be back and hope I get the same quality.
