The Russian River Brewing Company (RRBC) was originally owned by Korbel Champagne Cellars in Guerneville, California and was founded on their historic and beautiful property amidst vineyards and redwoods near the Russian River. When Korbel decided to get out of the beer business in 2003, they generously offered the brewmaster, Vinnie Cilurzo and his wife Natalie the rights to the brand. Russian...

Lots of choices of really good beer. The pizza is good too.
It's all about Belgian-style ales, "aggressively hopped California ales," and barrel-aged beers at this popular brewery's large pub. The legendary lineup includes Pliny the Elder (and Younger, but only in February), Blind Pig I.P.A., Mortification (nuances of clove, toffee, and roasted malts), and so many more. Happy hour (from 4 to 6:30 on weekdays and all day Sunday) is a jolly time to visit.
After a day of sipping Russian River’s reputable Pinot Noirs, change beverages but keep the appellation. Russian River Brewing Company boasts similar renown in the beer world. Don’t take offense if the server recommends you accept Damnation---it’s simply one of several Belgian-style ales on draught. Close to 20 house-made brews might be scrawled on the chalkboard in this cement-walled warehouse...
Arrived on a Wednesday afternoon in January. Pleased that there was no line to enter, and the 4 of us got a table right away. The place was close to full upon arrival, and was certainly full when we left after about an hour. Unfortunately due to other obligations we couldn't stay long. I had two of their classic beers - Pliny the Elder DIPA and Shadow of A Doubt Imperial Porter. Both were...
Windsor Brewery...new new new and huge huge huge. Wow! What a large setup that caught me off guard. Full disclosure- I've never been to the Santa Rosa pub.
Sparkling new brewery with enough space to brew multiple batches of whatever they like. I had the kids in tow so the space worked out very well - large, distinct spaces for the pub, gift shop (with bottles to go), tasting room that was...
Finally made it from the East Coast to Santa Rosa to try Pliny the Elder and some of their other brews. Definitely worth a visit and a wait for a table. The pizza is really good too and with a crowd of happy beer enthusiasts of all ages its all good.
Great beers, second to no one. Food is limited but the pizza is excellent. To me service is great but I know at times it falters, sometimes because of staff, most times because of the customer. With the opening of their new brewery 8 miles away much is expected of the new pub but for my friends and I, the 4th St pub will be the place where everybody knows our name!
Prost!!
Came for the Pliny and was not disappointed. We had a flight and appreciated almost all of them as very good or better. They should open a second brewery in Grand Rapids ( beer city), they would be welcomed there. The place was crowded and a little loud even though we were there for a late lunch. The service could of been a little better but was good. The bites are great and I recommend them;...
The citizens of Santa Rosa have reason to be in a continually celebratory mood as their microbrewery of choice takes top honors nearly every year at Denver's Great American Beer Festival. Since its inception in 1997, it has won such accolades as “Small Brewing Company of the Year,” “Innovation in Craft Brewing” and "Large Brewpub Champion Brewmaster." Indeed, gold medal winners include such...

In 1997, Russian River Brewing Company (RRBC) was founded by Korbel Champagne Cellars in Guerneville, California. Vinnie Cilurzo was hired as the Brewmaster. At the Great American Beer Festival in 1999, RRBC and Vinnie were awarded "Small Brewing Company of the Year" and "Small Brewing Company Brewmaster of the Year."
