Chuck is very knowledgeable about all kinds of taxes. I am a Lesbian, and my partner and I got married in 2008, when you could in California. Chuck knows how to negotiate our tricky returns -- married for the California returns, but sort-of-single with the federal. We also were audited by the IRS last year, in part because of our high charitable deductions, and he represented us at the audit, without us even being present. I was referred to Chuck Roth by my corporate attorney. He said he would be ""no-nonsense"" and ""down to business"". And at first, that's exactly what it was. But after three years of HAPPY returns for both my company and myself, I'm delighted to work with my CPA. After reviewing previous returns filed with my former accountant, he's gone back and found missed deductions. This is the guy I want in my corner!

My wife and I consider Chuck Roth a rare gem. He has delivered good advice, has always been timely with our returns, and has always saved us money, all a fair price. We have turned several other people on to him who are also now very happy with his tax services. There is a certain brilliance he has with numbers, and he is able to professionally complete tax work in very short order. He will not waste your time, and I've always found him to be very responsive to questions.

He is also a fascinating person, if you're open to knowing a quirky personality devoid of somewhat fake corporate...

Very rude and unprofessional

I sought this person's advice on buying a home on the recommendation of my realtor. He seemed adeqaute initially, so I planned to use him for my taxes this year. I was very busy over the last month with the move to a new place as well as a jump in my business, so fail to return a questionnaire he sent me earlier in the month. Over the last two weeks, I called and left a couple of messages which he never returned. When I finally got a hold of him, he was very rude with me, upbraiding me like a child about not returning his questionnaire and, in his view, not taking my taxes seriously. I...
