Culver City locals craving "Jewish comfort food" head to this "friendly" "New York–style" deli for "prescription-strength matzo ball soup", "decent" sandwiches and such served in a space that's like "stepping back four or five decades"; critics complain it's "past its prime", plus "at these prices you shouldn't have to ask for more pickles."
A wonderful deli on the West side with all the usual fare. Their soups and bagel chips are awesome as well as their generously stacked sandwiches. It's a great place for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A place to kickback and reminisce about old time Culver City with a cup of coffee and an omelette.
The pickles had no flavor, the bread was suppose to be baked on the premises, I doubt it, and the corned beef was cut thinner than any meat I have ever seen! The meat had absoutely no flavor and was northing I had ever seen before in a corn beef sandwich! $13.00 for the sandwich and a itty bitty amount of coleslaw! Extremely disappointed..... The cabbage in the coleslaw was wilted and drab,...
Love their matzo ball soup
I love Roll N Rye. I do live in the area and feel very fortunate to go there, feel welcomed by the warm and friendly waitreeses and waiters, and choose from the huge menu. There is not a dish there I haven't thought was deliious, FRESH, and served quickly. Even their beef is out of this world. I went to a restaurnt known for its steaks and ground meat burgers then ordered a ground beef sandwich...
There is no reason that this restaurant charges as much as they do for the quality/quantity you get. If you want a good deli, go to Izzy's in Santa Monica. There you get what you pay for!
