Editorial reviews from the web (4)

Haute comfort food is the focus at this cute diner across from the Claremont hotel. The brunches are legendary for quality and value, and customers line up outside the door before the restaurant opens on the weekend. If you come during prime brunch hours, expect a long wait, but the soft-style eggs are worth it. Pancakes, waffles, and French toast are more flavorful than usual, with variations...

Berkeleyites "keep coming back" for the "great American chow" made from "locally sourced", "high-quality" ingredients at this inexpensive, "family-friendly" joint that offers plenty of "healthy options" for breakfast and lunch; there are often "long lines on weekends", but service comes "with a smile" and the "feel-good food for the soul" is "worth the wait."

Rick & Ann's Restaurant Review

This reliable Berkeley restaurant packs in diners with quality comfort food combined with efficient, friendly service. Though breakfasts are enjoyable, try the specials or grilled dishes in the evening --- steaks are worthy as well. Meatloaf, chicken potpie and mac 'n' cheese will bring back fond memories, as will house-made desserts such as seasonal fruit pies, bread pudding and chocolate...

Homey Berkeley hangout serves hearty breakfast favorites like potato hash, cornmeal pancakes and homemade applesauce.

I was staying at the Claremont so breakfast here was a no brainier. I arrived to long lines and a 30 minute but since I was solo, was seated at a communal table right away.
I ordered a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, bacon and coffee. Pretty basic, but nothing to write home about.
A few doors down is a...

I don't make it to this area often, but when I do, I go out of my way to visit Rick & Ann's. This was my second visit and was as enjoyable as my first. I had the "Midwest" special. The highlights were the potato pancakes (hash brown mix) and smoked pork chop. I enjoyed my food with a perfectly...

I met up here with a group of friends on a Sunday morning/afternoon and our wait was around 60-75 minutes long. The place itself though is very quaint and the staff was very quick and accommodating once a table was available. I ended up ordering the buttermilk pancakes with a side of eggs and it was quite …

We needed up in Berkeley after spending too much time in Sausalito and not booking a room. We woke up on the morning just wanting to find a cozy place to have brunch, and found this place. Such a cute spot, with amazing food!!
