Rice N Beans Restaurant

Brazilian home cooking is the hearty specialty of this friendly little restaurant, which serves steaming bowls of caldo verde, the wonderfully rich, smoky soup, and huge portions of such dishes as feijoada, a black bean stew heaped with pork, sausage, bacon and beef. Rice 'n' Beans is small and drafty, but the welcome is warm.

Rice and Beans provides a warm and inviting environment. The food is well portioned and fairly priced. The service was a little disappointing yet was redeemed in the end. There was only one other table occupied during our meal.

Rice n Beans is a true neighborhood gem. The food is delicious, the staff both knowledgeable and willing to modify orders with ease. And it's great for quiet conversation, even as the Brazilian sounds rock.

I discovered Rice N Beans about 3 years ago and it has become one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The food is always good, the servers are attentive, the atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, the prices are reasonable (unlike most Brazilian restaurants in Manhattan), the drinks are delicious and they have a great happy hour.
