Restaurant Bea (pronounced bee) is located on 34th Avenue in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. Chef Tom Black and Kate Perry, friends for several years, opened the doors in March of 2012. Tom brings with him many years of experience as a chef, most notably at Fuller's and The Barking Frog, while Kate loves welcoming neighbors and food lovers into Bea. We call our dishes polished Northwest...
In what used to be Cremant and most recently June, this charming 60-seater dinner nook in the heart of Madrona is the brainchild of friends chef Tom Black (Barking Frog, 35th St. Bistro, Fuller's) and Kate Perry. Together, they usher in diners who want a taste of Black's comfort food and Perry's warm hospitality. It's hard not to feel all tingly with dishes like veal meatballs, tuna casserole and bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Whether you sip on a cocktail in the sexy big bar while peering into the open kitchen or take up residence in the dining room embraced by floral wallpaper, you won't want to...
Upscale comfort food without the pretention. Sweetbreads, rabbit ragu and tater tots, whatcha waiting for? Worth the trek to Madrona!

Ate here with 3 other couples on a weekend night, everything was quite excellent incl wines. Bit of a moody (dim) atmosphere, interesting decor (mix of flowered wallpaper and slab cement). Very nice and efficient staff. Had some kind of Brussels sprouts appetizer which sounds weird but was awesome. For the main course, scallops and the Ahi tuna were terrific....
Food was much better than expected. The scallops were done to perfection and the pork was out of this world. Incredible horseradish sauce on a crispy outside made this crepinette something special. Our waitress was functional but a little crabby. All the other service people were fine, I think ours might of just had a bad day. This was really high end comfort food at reasonable prices.
Everything we had was fantastic: veggie lasagna, scallops, beet-watercress salad, and homemade focaccia with tomato jam and ricotta. The servers were super-friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
Loved the restaurant. The owner was very attentive.
The only problem was OPEN TABLE!There was no record of our reservation. I provided the owner with a copy of the confirming email I received from Open Table. Clearly, something fell through the cracks.
