Located along D.C.'s edgiest nightlife avenue, H Street NE, this club aims to offer an intimate setting for singer-songwriter acts, although louder, local and touring indie rock bands frequently appear. In late 2010, owners combined the formerly separate but neighboring properties, The Red and The Black and the Palace of Wonders, to create this larger venue with a bigger stage and an extra bar,...

The devil went down to Georgia and kept going all the way to Louisiana. Red pepper bar food hints at Cajun vibe but it's the earnest indie groupies that bring tears to your eyes. Generally good for cheesesteaks, but sometimes they are too salty.Hours can be a bit spotty, and service (even though it's a window, is the same). They get three stars on the cheesesteak alone. The mango water ice is nice too. The biggest issue is that there is no seating (be prepared to pop a squat somewhere nearby.

Arguably the best soft serve in the area.Definitely tastier than Rita's custard. However, catching them when they're open is like catching a tiger by the tail. The workers are often disinterested, bordering on surly.A couple of weeks ago I visited because I was CRAVING (like a pregnant lady, though I'm woefully …

Who wants water ice when tacos is what your bellies crave? Why did tacos impalas have to close down so the city can remain cool and sugar filled April - Sept?
