Dear Emily,

It's unfortunate about your husband's tumor, however, this is business. Read the fine print. I work for a large company that runs race events throughout the year. There are never refunds for race day events. It's not greed, it's called smart business practices and EVERY event related team will tell you the same thing. Not even Disney will refund for their marathon events (although they've recently started offering racers the chance to move the downpayment to another event date depending on the circumstances; as far as I know they are the only company to do so at this point.) ...

My husband was told he has a tumor in his adrenal gland that will have to be removed shortly before the Warrior Dash he signed up for. He will be unable to race because of the surgery to remove the tumor and we were told they will not refund the entry fee for any reason.

Please think carefully before doing business with this unethical company.
