Rayuela Restaurant Review

At first, diners can’t help but feel that the owners behind this spot are playing children’s games. It’s not just that the name means “hopscotch” in Spanish, but the tri-level setting feels somewhat like a glorified tree house. An olive tree even grows right through the middle of it, stretching from the clubby ground floor lounge up to the second floor dining room, where sheer drapes flow...

Cocina Latina in the LES since 2007

The Profile Page for this restaurant is brought to you by the DiningGuide.com service. Rayuela is located in New York.

Rayuela (Spanish for "hopscotch" and the title of the experimental novel by South American writer Julio Cortázar) introduces Estilo Libre Latino(Freestyle Latino) cuisine, which respects yet redefines traditional Latin American and Spanish dishes including ceviche and tapas.

Dubbed freelance Latino cuisine, the menu at this funky eatery is eclectic and tantalizing, from the blue point oysters with cilantro and bacon, to the free range chicken with coconut ginger reduction. The decor is rustic with modern flourishes and the deluxe restrooms downstairs are worth a visit.
