Raw Bar is one (of 3) best sushi bars in Chico. I go here more often over the other sushi restaurants because it's located downtown, I really enjoy the ambiance and beautiful, artsy decor, the weight staff is hip and friendly, also the sushi chefs are fun to watch. Raw Bar has the best Miso Soup in town, made fresh to order. Their rolls are tasty, some of the favs with my friends are the Spider Roll, the Killi Cali, the Philifornia Roll, the Gilroy, and so many more. I personally prefer their fresh sashimi yellow tail. I also order their baby back ribs every so often, so good. I only gave 3 stars, but that's only because I have been to amazing 5 Star sushi restaurants in Austin, TX. Not quite the same.
The sushi chef "Trav" Gibson that currently works here is a complete sociopath, rapist, and dead beat. If anyone wants to eat at this restaurant stay clear of the short Hispanic man. He might try and follow you home.
This place is great! Try the ribs--I know it's a sushi joint, but please start with those. Yes, it's a little pricy, but worth it. They have a great happy hour, so you can go between 3:00 and 5:00 and be gluttonous for a great price.
I had some delicious sushi here but I paid a price I would normally pay for a decent sized roll (6-8 pieces) and got 4. The servers were also a bit rude and I think assumed I wasn't going to buy anything or not tip well because I am a student. Overall the experience turned out to be average and the sushi tasted good but was over priced.
Amazing! You will be addicted! There is so much I can say about the job that Darren and Michelle are doing here. I will not waste the space, save to tell you that they are an amazing team that is presenting great menu items that are fresh and inventive.
We have been here a few times. I really am not a fan of sushi but my husband loves it. This is a nice place to compromise at. I love their terrakyi bowl and my husband can get his fill of sushi and we don't have to drive all over town. ...
