This Place is Great! - I loved it!

Yep, it's a tourist trap, but damn your already at Fisherman's Wharf and your whining about tourist traps? The whole wharf is fake! Anyway back to the Rainforest Cafe. This one is unique and bigger than the rest, since they used a tri-level floor existing bldg. location and it's laid out much cooler than the others around the country, like the one in South Coast Plaza Mall in Newport Beach, CA. So, after walking around all the other tourist stuff at the Wharf, Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square and god forbid you went to Ripley's and the Wax Museum, this place seems like an oasis and reprieve, even though these restaurants can be bit noisy with water falls, misters, jungle noises and tropical music about. While waiting for your food you will be entertained my 3 million things to look at hanging about everywhere. Including animatronic animals, such as Gorillas, Elephants and Crocadile with lightning and thunder effects every ten minutes or so. Also some awesome huge aquariums are seen throughout. The food and drinks are very good as well and surprisingly big portioned and reasonably priced. This is not a great place to have an intimate conversation with someone. Just kick back and enjoy the scenery and sounds

This cartoon jungle is a child's wonderland, with waterfalls, swinging monkeys and a canopy of faux flora and fauna.

In Short
While waiting for a table, hungry diners prowl the retail village, where cash-register ka-chings compete with chirping birds, roaring lions and chest-thumping gorillas. When the...

We went for a 3rd birthday party and it hit the mark for the kids. The food was better than I feared, the service was friendly and the environment is great for kids. The animatronic animals are actually pretty good and kept them entertained. Parking in fishermans wharf is its own nightmare but that goes with the territory.

You need to understand what you are getting into, if you go here. This place would EASILY fit into "Adventure Land" at Disney Land/World. It is meant for tourists, plain and simple. If you keep that fact firmly in mind, then you will enjoy yourself here. The place is loaded with animatronic animals (think …
