If the idea of “eating next to a robotic elephant that sprays water every 30 minutes” appeals, head for this jungle-themed chain filled with “spellbinding” animatronic creatures plus “families, families, families”; the American eats are “bland” and “expensive for what you get”, but the “concept works” (despite being “slightly overwhelming”), so it’s a “fun place to take the kids once.”

Rainforest Cafe Restaurant Review

This is a fantasy land with a family-friendly vibe, and it’s dense with activity --- thunder and lightning, rain dripping from the ceiling, squawking birds. In a nutshell, you wouldn’t want to spend too much time here, as it’s noisy to a fault. It’s as much a place to shop as to eat, and there is plenty of both going on. The menu offers burgers, pasta, salads and tacos --- all the basics. Each...

This cartoon jungle is a child's wonderland, with waterfalls, swinging monkeys and a canopy of faux flora and fauna.

In Short
While waiting for a table, hungry diners prowl the retail village, where cash-register ka-chings compete with chirping birds, roaring lions and chest-thumping gorillas. When the... Pros + family-friendly menu Cons - theme restaurant kitsch

Monday night arrival at 6:00. Told twenty minute wait. After 35 minutes, asked how much longer. Seating hostess seemed overwhelmed and flustered and couldn't say how much longer. 40 minute total wait. Waiting area is just a shop full of promotional merchandise.
After being seated, another 5 minute wait .... but our server, Bill, eventually arrived, and was excellent. Chips...

We have tried to get here for 2 years. Our schedule in Chicago has always been full and we rarely do the same activity more than once as there is so much to do. Plenty for the kids to see with the deco. I enjoyed a margarita after a busy day.

We waited a long time early in the evening when it wasn't even crowded. Our waiter was very nice but the service was not good. The food was average at best and very overpriced. Other than our waiter, everyone we encountered was unpleasant to deal with and acted like they hated being there. I can't imagine why everyone still goes...

There is definitely better food in Chicago. We went here to celebrate a birthday, with first time visitors to the city. The food was so so, our waiter was good. We had the appetizer platter, I had a salad, and my boyfriend had the salmon, entrees were good. We ordered the volcano cake for the birthday boy, and that was...

Wanted grandkids to see inside so we went for dessert and got appetizers and drinks. Kids got icees in frog cups that are huge. We got fruity drinks. They got fries which were very good. Not sure why but different than deep fried ones. We got nachos without beef and it was good and pretty presentation. We would go back.

Never been to or seen a Rainforest Cafe before. The outside was decorated with huge jungle creatures and the entrance was inviting. Inside, the entire place was decorated like a...
