We went here to wait for our table over at ship bottom shellfish. This is a great local dive bar if that is what you are looking for. Prices are great and service is great.

What is the porthole? A porthole is a generally circular window used on the hull of ships to admit light and air. Though the term is of obvious maritime origin, in Beach Haven it is one of the greatest local neighborhood bars. Yes, it's a bit dark, but it's perfect. Roast Beef sandwiches which they're known for do not miss!...

I've been to the porthole twice on rainy days. It needs a face lift/make over. The roast beef sandwiches were okay, nothing great.
So I was disappointed because I was told that there RB was great and I wasn't impressed. A lot of comfort food on the menu, lots of fried food they should add some healthy dishes.

Lovely simple place

Great place for a casual lunch - they have tasty sandwiches and unassuming atmosphere. Seems to be a place frequented by steady customer base. The service is quick. Would go back.
