What made it the best experience? The fellow working the counter had such a phenomenal personality. With every wine, he gave recipe suggestions and recommendations. I really enjoyed trying the wines at Pomona because they are not made from grapes. I learned that I am a huge fan of apple wine and this place has them down to an art.
Pomona Winery is part of the Shawnee wine trail, it is the only winery that specializes in wine made with fruit other than grapes. The Staff are attentive, informative and friendly. First of all-- getting to Pomona is no easy task. It's well off the beaten path, down narrow and winding country roads. It takes seemingly forever to get there. However once you arrive, you'll find it's totally worth the trip.
Their wines are made from fruits other than grapes. Apples, blueberries, blackberries, etc. They're all delicious...by my clear cut favorite...
Becky was a great host. She knows wine and Pomona Winery has some of the best. And, we were surprised the wine was of other fruits. The Winery is a beautiful facility in a beautiful setting. Enjoy!
My hubby and I enjoyed Pomona Winery! This winery uses local fruits other than grapes in their wine-making, making them unique to the Shawnee Wine Trail. Our hostess was great and happened to be one of the winemakers so needless to say she knew their products! Very nice place and very good wines!
