Help us make it rightPizzitola's 70-year old big brick pit is firing up some east Texas hickory and the ribs are cookin' just right. Or maybe chicken is your thing - something our owner has become famous for. Could happen that our rough-textured sausage from the hill country becomes your favorite, or the fork-tender brisket. Top it all with a sauce that is down right perfection, and you'll know why we've been named...

Houstonians love their beef. If it's on a rib, pulled, or lathered in a tangy barbecue sauce, even better. Here are the places where you can 'meat' your match.
Nondescript exterior and kitschy decor don't detract from some famously delicious hickory-smoked brisket and Texas-style barbecue.
The Menu is very elaborate and has lots of choices. They were happy to make substitutions.
The food is pretty good and so is the service. Your typical Casual Tex Mex Dining.
Great place to come with friend or family for a few drinks and dinner.
The servers are all super nice. The owner is on site and personally talks to most everyone. Everyone knows everyone. It went from only a couple of people to standing room only in less than 30 minutes. You can get your choice of meats as in lean or juicy on the meat plate. The brisket was pretty darn good and...
I respect Pizzitola's for its historical significance. It is one of the oldest barbecue venues still in existence in Houston. And it deserves your visit and your patronage. In a world of corporation chains, it is important for all of us to support local, independent operations.
Had dinner with an out of town friend on a weeknight. Only a few customers inside which was nice--easy parking, lots of attention by the wait staff. This isn't the common cafeteria style bbq, they have a real menu, pick your meat(s) and sides. Service was prompt and attentive and the food was excellent--the potato salad was a great side...

Although Texas BBQ focuses heavily on beef brisket, ribs are also insanely delicious, depending on where you go. Pizzitola's has been smoking meat since the Great Depression. Conveniently located on Shepherd Drive near the I-10, this true Texas joint boasts of their amazing spareribs, and with great reason. Go during lunch and see for yourself how much this city loves their BBQ. Share a slab of...
Pizzitola's kitchen staff boasts over 100 years of "pit style" barbecue experience. The brisket is tender & juicy and the pork ribs are the most popular menu item. You can also order chicken and sausage. They also offer all the fixings: a mustard based potato salad, pinto beans, cole slaw and smoky grilled vegetables.
There's no doubt that Pizzitola's, in operation since 1935, knows how to make some darned good barbecue. There is very little that doesn't cause the mouth to water uncontrollably. Pizzitola's specialty is brisket — lean cut and so tender it just disappears in your mouth. The pork ribs, rubbed with sea salt and pepper, seem simple but are imbued with a full, smoky flavor by the east Texas...
