THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pinot Bistro Restaurant Review

The first casual spin-off of Joachim Splichal's Patina back in 1992, Pinot Bistro is perhaps our favorite Pinot still. The main dining room, while handsome and comfortable, is SoCal all the way, but the bistro area by the bar is more reminiscent of Paris. This cozy room, with its mustard walls, black-and-white tile floor and dark wood paneling, is like stepping into a 6th arrondissement bistro....

Understated and polished, Pinot dishes up French bistro standards (coq au vin, frisee salads and all the right stem-ware) in elegant surroundings. Large scallops with spinach pesto coulis, caramel glazed pork belly and nightly plat du jour are not to be missed. Service is spot-on. Wine list near epic. Deep mahoney panneled walls, stately decor and fresh linen keep environ date ready.

The food is good but we found it way too expensive for what it is, especially since we didn't have any alcohol. The staff were very friendly and polite but a bit too informal at times.

My new favorite in the valley

There are only handful of restaurants in the valley that can possibly compete with this place. Great food, great service and as it turned out, you can bring your own wine! I only have two complaints – they did not have the foie gras and a lot of specials were too heavy for a hot summer night. Overall, we had...
