What the community has to say about Phoenecia

Information about this business (2)

Phoenecia is a neighborhood bistro restaurant in Seattle offering tapas and small plates, artisanal pizza, weekly special entrees, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free items, and an intimate wine bar. Explore, indulge, enjoy...!

Alki Beach may not be the Mediterranean, but inside this smoke-free restaurant it might as well be. The warm-colored walls replace some of the Puget Sound gloom, and the food rounds out the effect. Proprietor Hussein Khazaal treats faithful regulars and new believers to excellent versions of hummus and other standards. He seasons lamb and fresh seafood with saffron and other exquisite spices....

New Years Eve

Average Rating

We have eaten here many times because the food is outstanding. The service has always been slow but the food was worth the wait. On New Year's Eve they crammed the place with tables and too many customers at one time. People had to move away from their tables to allow other patrons to get to and from their tables. Food was being served over other customers heads and you were so close to each...

Phoenicia is a neighborhood spot. We have been dining here for 20 years and the food doesn't disappoint. The best pizza in Seattle. The dough is proofed for 3 days. Other offerings are outstanding as well. Good wines by the glass. The owner and her daughters are so warm and make you welcome every time you dine.

Disappointing

It was a cold, blustery night when a friend and I went to Phoenecia. I had been there a number of years ago and the menu has changed significantly. Our server was friendly and got us started by reviewing the specials. My friend and I both ordered the pork chop special. Given that the restaurant was almost empty a little after 5:30, it seemed to take quite a while for our entrees to arrive. When...

Another Great Phoenecia Experience

We've been to Phoenecia many times for both casual dinners with our children (12 and 14) and with work colleagues, including the chairman of my company's board of directors, and I've enjoyed every time thoroughly. All of the dishes are beautifully-presented, with sophisticated combinations of flavors, yet manage to avoid being intimidating to young palates, or pretentious in any way. Similarly,...

Hussein Khazzal`s Lebanese, Provencal, and Mediterranean dishes consistently dazzle diners at this warm-toned location on Alki. Lamb and seafood are specialties, but even standards like hummus and baba ghanoush somehow taste better here. If you really want a treat, put yourself in Khazzal`s hands, and he`ll bring you what`s best that night -- all the while accommodating your dietary...
