The Philadelphia Zoo is off the chart when it comes to happy animals. I stopped by during the winter and they all seemed happy, rested and full. The best animal exhibits in the park were the big cats: Siberian tigers, snow leopards and lions. The red pandas were cute and the sloth bears were totally slothfull. (I shot a photo of a bear sleeping with a very small wall!) The park is close to downtown Philadelphia, so you can take a bus or a taxi if you are in town on a trip. It's not a huge overcrowded zoo which makes it very pleasant to visit. You'll have plenty of time to walk around and enjoy all the animals and exhibits. The keeper at the lion enclosure was so informative and friendly. It's definitely worth visiting .
