Peter Flooring, Inc. is a family owned business for over 20 years.. they know what they are doing! If you want HIGH quality floors and durability than Peter Flooring is the way to go! This company may not be the cheapest but would you really expect high quality professional work to be ridiculously cheap? NO! What you pay for is what you get. When you go to a fast food restaurant versus a 5 star fancy restaurant.. is there a difference in the money? YES! Is there a difference in the food??? OFF COARSE there is! Same thing goes for hardwood flooring. The workers are very nice and very hard working. All of the are working with the company for many many years. Peter Flooring, Inc. gives free estimates.. sometimes even on the very same day! Their quotes are VERY detailed and really help you to understand the whole process of the work which shall be performed. They do amazing work. The estimator is also very professional and he can recommend a lot of good things for the hardwood floors. He has been estimating hardwood floors also for many years and has A LOT of experience. I don't know what these people are complaining about, but P.F. ROCKS!!!
I needed my hallway floors replaced. When Peter came to estimate he saw that the new flooring has to match the adjoing rooms and I wanted the existing squeaks fixed. He said no problem. Got his estimate next day and got to work soon after. After tearing out the old floor he tried to get me to pay about 10% more to remove the squeaks. Than he wanted 10-15% more to get the color to match because the contract called for 'clear' coating. You would expect matching the color of existing wood flooring to be an obvious important part of the job. I got suckered into paying extra for staining and it STILL is much lighter than all my rooms. With all the different stains available there should be no problem closely matching colors. I love the quality of their work but watch out for Peter's extra charges!
We regret that we did not check this blog sooner so we could defend our company’s reputation by placing this response. Well later is better than never!
First off, if Irene was a real hardwood floor PRO (like she’s claiming she is), she would know that every kind of floor finish that you buy in the store come in different sheens: gloss, semi, satin. If a customer wants GLOSS, we purchase gloss in the store and apply GLOSS. There are different kinds of floor finishes from many different manufacturers, which differ in pricing. We use floor finishes that come from a well – known manufacturer, Dura Seal. No matter what kind of a sheen we purchase: gloss, semi, satin, the price stays the same. So think about it: why would we apply satin (like she’s claiming) when we could apply GLOSS like the customer wants and avoid any issues. At Irene’s job, we sanded sealed and applied 2 coats of Dura Seal Polyurethane Oil Base. It is true that if we applied another coat of floor finish (3rd one) the floor would be shiner (more glossy), but that would cost more money to cover the extra material and labor. The X amount of money that Irene paid for each unit was ONLY enough to cover sanding, sealing and application of 2 coats of floor finish. NOTE for IRENE: Call the manufacturer (Dura Seal) and complain to them that their GLOSS Oil base finish is not shiny enough, maybe they will send someone to your units and apply 3rd coat of floor finish for FREE. Stop blaming our company for something that is not even our fault. We did the job exactly how it was listed on the proposal (with 2 coats of floor finish), but you decided not to pay us. That’s why you ended up in collection.
I manage a 12-unit apartment building. In 2007, I hired Peter Flooring to refinish 2 apartments because I was pregnant and couldn't do the sanding and finishing myself. What a mistake! I specifically told them I wanted a high-gloss finish, which is what I applied when I did it myself. I even showed the estimator how it should look by showing him a floor I had done. No problem, he said, it was the same price regardless of the type of finish. After they finished the 1st apartment, I told them the finish was not correct (it was satin). They did the 2nd apartment the same way, anyway. I spent countless hours arguing with Peter ("Why do you need high-gloss? We do lots of apartments -- you don't need high-gloss."), which later changed to "We did use high-gloss" but he wouldn't visit the site to check for himself, and then it became "We used high-gloss, but if you really want it to look glossy, we can apply another coat, which will cost you 33% more than what we originally quoted you.” Peter Gasinski was very condescending throughout the whole mess, and now, two years later, we will be going court to get this whole thing settled. Save yourself a headache and use someone who truly guarantees your satisfaction, not just puts empty promises on his website.
The floor turned out beautifully! Workers were polite, neat and made good suggestions. They added an extra threshold at no charge which really "finished" the project. They called 30 minutes prior to arrival so I always knew exactly when they would arrive. I couldn't be happier with the job!!!
I called Peter Flooring to get an estimate on flooring. I have used them in the past and liked their work and price. Peter meets me, reviewed the job, and then sent me a quote by email. A week later I signed the contract and sent it back to him. We scheduled the start date eight days in the future on a Wednesday. Tuesday the office called me and said Peter made a scheduling conflict, and they...
We had a very bad experience with Peter Flooring. They were careless and did not finish the floor in some areas. We have been trying since June to get them to come back and finish the job and Peter keeps making excuses for why they have been unable to finish their work. As a small business owner myself, I am appalled at the poor customer service. If they treat all their customers this way I...
There was a sealing problem after they finished were water would leave bleach marks on immediate contact. Peter's son refused to even come out and look at them! The company eventually fixed them and they look nice. However, this man was the rudest most inappropriate and unprofessional man I have ever PAID. My family has used them for 20 years - never again!
Peter's son in particular was rude, inappropriate and unprofessional. There was a problem when they finished with the sealant and this man refused to come out and look at them even within our ""72 hr window"". He said there ""couldnt be a problem cuz he does good work"". The company eventually fixed them and they look nice. However, I feel embarrassed that I PAID to have someone speak to me this way. My family has used Peter for 20 years - never again. Not as long as his son continues to work at this company.
