I recently switched Oby doctors for logistic reason and found Dr Prather. I've lived around DC area and had top doctors, I've never experienced a doctor suggesting 'do not even come to ultrasound because you will miscarry'. My husband and I reported this incident and her horrible bed side manners (not to mention she hurts you during pap smear). As a patient you have all rights to investigate...

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone I care about. This is the MOST unprofessional practice I have had the misfortune to encounter. They are unable to keep accurate billing records and charged me twice for a bill that was paid three years earlier and then Kern decided she no longer wanted to see my children who had been under her care for 15 years. This man needs to actually get out of the Navy one of these days. He must be competent, but his bedside manner stinks. He scurries about acting as if his next patient will be his last. In my case it was.

Dr. Kern was outstandingly professional and very friendly. My six year old daughter trusted her since she explained everything she was doing and why she did. We were sent to Dr. Kern with a concerning pre-diagnosis and in no time but through thorough examination she was able to tell us what was really going on.
