The Parthenon --- the one in Chicago --- has been around as long as Greektown has existed, its dishes and festive setting a favorite among families and groups. Sure, it’s nothing fancy, and the menu is a litany of all one would expect of a Greek restaurant --- moussaka, pastitsio, chicken and gyros --- but it’s a fun place offering good food at a reasonable price. Waiters leave no plate...

The Scene
Established in 1968, Parthenon is abuzz with waiters zipping around and patrons enjoying hearty conversation. Both stop frequently to yell ""Opa!"" when a flaming dish passes...
I was so amazed with "all" the food. We had a sampling of many things, but I think the highlight was the Saganaki. It is served tableside when they flame it. Yummy does not explain how good this melted cheese was all by itself or on a little piece of bread. Here are all the other things I tried: Fish...
We were given a little attitude when we first came in and service was slow. our wait staff apologized a little later and gave us free coffee. The flaming cheese was awesome. we tried a variety of other food. The food was ok. Someone went overboard on the nutmeg.
Ate at the Parthenon with my dad for a lunch. We used a Groupon. We were served a delicious five course meal. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend trying the saganaki, so you can see them light it on fire. What a cool experience! Great place. Great wait staff. Well worth the price.
When I arrived with my boss from India (I'm from Colorado and this was his first time trying Greek food) there was an African wedding taking place! I'm not sure what exactly was going on, but everyone looked to be having a great time and was very exuberant. While some people might consider this a detraction, or even a reason...
We have been here several times before and always enjoyed our food, the atmosphere and staff. Today, everything served was only room temperature and seemed to have been prepared well in advance and poorly reheated. We had the family style combination #2. The salad was the highlight. We were celebrating our anniversary which made it more sad. The wait staff...
Greek: This restaurant stays open late, feeding hungry patrons after other restaurants have shut their doors. The menu includes a host of traditional mezes — try a platter of sausages, liver, sweetbreads, and meatballs, or sample spinach cheese pie. Main selections encompass a delectable roster of lamb, vegetable, potato, and chicken dishes. Try chicken karama, chicken simmered with tomatoes...
