Palisade Restaurant Review

Palisade's views of the Seattle skyline, bustling ferry boats and Olympic Mountains are rivaled only by its elegant atmosphere. The menu features a mix of steaks and seafood, such as whole live lobster with lemon butter sauce, Dungeness crab-stuffed black tiger prawns, and a New York strip steak with Gorgonzola. For a taste of both, order the surf ‘n’ turf combo, a feast of apple wood-smoked...

A popular special occasion spot for locals, Palisade is perched on a bluff above Elliott Bay Marina with views of Seattle's skyline, ferry boats and the Olympic mountains. The restaurant's exotic interior seems a bit dated these days, with… Read More

That Time a $400 Bottle of Rare Wine Tasted 'Old'

Sometimes, when people have money to burn, they don't mind pouring $400 down the drain after ordering an expensive bottle of wine they dislike. Yashar Shayan, Wine Director at The Willows Inn on Lumi Island, has a whale tale involving a woman, a rare bottle of wine, and some possibly jacked-up taste buds. It happened to him when he was a sommelier at Palisade:

With a panorama that sweeps from downtown to West Seattle and across the sound to the Olympic Mountains, Palisade has one of the best views of any Seattle waterfront restaurant and is one of my top choices for a splurge waterfront dinner. It also happens to have fine food and inventive interior design (incorporating a saltwater pond, with fish, sea anemones, and starfish, in the middle of the...

Fabulous meal and incredible views! Highly recommend!

Palisades always has a great selection of NW seafood, cooked in very traditional way, and served with a view of the Marina and the Seattle waterfront in the distance. Ask for a window table, so that your view can be unobstructed. The Pre-fixe menu is an excellent value and great way to stretch your budget. Note: enroll in their frequent diner club because you will be back!

Everything was good except for the fact we had to wait 45mins for our main courses. The general manager (I think that's who he was) brought our food and was very apologetic and did comp our second round of drinks. Our server also indicated we would be given dessert on the house for the delay.

Great view, but had to wait over an hour for our food even at 8PM. Service was slow, inattentive, and subpar for the quality of this restaurant. There was a hair in my crab bisque, my salmon on my Surf and Turf was raw and cold in the middle, and my prime rib was cold. Not once was I asked how the food was or if I wanted another drink. I was so hungry from waiting and the fact that we were...

Had a very lovely and delicious Valentine date dinner. Each item we had was thoughtfully conceived and well executed. The flavors were fantastic and the service was attentive. Overall, a pleasurable dining experience we are happy to recommend.

This is Seattle's classic landmark restaurant perched on the water's edge with a breathtaking and great view through the expanse of windows out over Elliott Bay with the city and Olympic Mountains as a backdrop. Whether for a special business or romantic occasion or just for a break from the day, come enjoy a cocktail in our elevated piano bar next to the indoor waterfall.

Seafood: This restaurant, with its island accents and Polynesian-tinged menu, is a great place to applaud a promotion, celebrate an anniversary, or treat yourself. Views of the city and Puget Sound draw your attention, but the menu has a seductive appeal too. Its emphasis on Northwest cuisine is especially apparent in seafood. Large king crab legs are served on a cedar plank, as is salmon and a...

The Palisade Waterfront Restaurant offers everything from chicken and steak to seafood and salads.
