Pacific Cafe Restaurant Review

Simple, fresh fish has been the draw here since 1975. Little known outside the immediate area, it’s a worthwhile find if you’re in the neighborhood. Moist, quickly sautéed sand dabs are better than at most San Francisco grills, while other fish, depending on availability, are deep-fried to a turn.

We no longer have Pacific Cafe in Kentfield. It closed ~6-7 months ago, in October right when the Giants won the World Series. And, it appears another business will open in its place. If anyone has another local seafood restaurant recommendation, that would be appreciated.

Owned by the same Pacific Cafe family with the original location on Geary at 34th Ave. Same menu, more room than the SF location, plenty of parking in the lot behind this building. Free glass of Inglenook Chablis while you wait for your table. Typical dinner with starter soup or salad, fish selection with vegetables and a dessert will run you $30. Our favorite restaurant in Marin because the food is consistently
good, menu changes often, service is with a smile (and if you have
to wait for a table you are given a glass of wine). The place we always
head to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, etc.

When I want to dine out and think of halibut snapper, trout, and sand dabs, I think: Pacific Cafe.

Something to be mindful in this busy world: things that are consistent and good are valuable. The dining experience here is always warm and friendly...the owner has been there for 36 years and knows fish. Go and have a good time.

Still the best seafood in Marin Co. We have been dining there for over 20 years and still can't find another seafood restaurant in the area to make us want to switch!
