This is now a beer joint with pool tables where patrons smoke cigarettes inside despite the law. People are friendly in this town, but the Steamer may be a little rough for visitors from out of town.

Dinner with Sister and Brother in law

Went to stay at a bed and breakfast with my sister and her husband. We stopped at another restaurant but they didn't have any steaks so we ventured to Oriental Steamer Restaurant. Had a nice dinner and good service. Would have preferred a little quieter atmosphere but it was all good.

irene killed the steamer but still is the late nite place for pool and beer

pool tables, game tables beer and wine make this the after hours place to meet the locals and friends. no food as resturant was flooded during irene

Hurricane Irene flooded the Steamer, so they are not allowed to serve food. They have put pool tables and a jukebox where the tables were. I have heard they may reopen later.
This restaurant is obviously not in the heart of Beaufort as the last review said. It is in Oriental.

The food is reasonably good but not extraordinary. The restaurant is comfortable and in the heart of quaint Beaufort.

We offer casual dining in a rustic atmosphere with daily specials. Locals night on Thursdays with Dollar Drafts, mixed drink specials, and 6.95 entrees. Are menus have everything from Burgers to Lobster Tails, we have something for everyone.
