I had a service call because the heat quit working on my downstairs unit. The ""serviceman"" arrived, Very friendly and Overly talkative. He checked out the unit and informed me with a sad shake of his head that the heat exchanger was bad. He told me it would cost $1380 to replace it, but that the overall unit was in such bad shape that I would be wasting my money to fix it... I should have them install a new unit for me. My unit is only four years old, and the part itself is still under warranty, so the $1380 is labor only! He then goes into this diatribe about all the time it takes for...
