Help us make it rightOK to rent for a party. It does not go anywhere. Other people tried to get on for the ride and drinks. Soon the new street car will be open, but it cannot fit under the original route. The cars are from Japan. They mqy not be built to fit.
Downtown has been torn up to add rail, so not much activity recently. But the ride down to 4th Avenue from the U of A goes through the historical University district and is a lovely ride.
The historic street car is being replaced by Tucson's "Modern Street Car" system. I need more experience before I can write
It used to be fun to take this trolley between 4th Avenue and the University. It's gone now due to construction of the Modern Streetcar in Tucson (aka SunLink), and I do not believe it will be coming back.
The UA students DO go to the bars via trolley, but the route does have a lot more to offer in its current short length. Once the downtown section is added it will make this more of a useful transportation option but in the meantime it is interesting to see the restored historic trolleys, as well as those being restored...

For a taste of historic Tucson, take a ride on one of the track trolleys leaving from the University of Arizona's main gate on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. This all-volunteer "museum" has reinstated and refurbished the trolley system that was carrying passengers around downtown Tucson from 1906 to 1930. Old Pueblo Trolley has definitely given the city a return of its old charm.
