"Really basic, but well-made" Middle Eastern chow is "always a value" at this "reasonably priced" Old Town longtimer tended by "friendly" staffers; just "don't look up from your plate" because the "harsh lighting" "doesn't make your date look too good" warn diners who prefer outdoor seating or getting takeout.
Old Jerusalem is the kind of place people like to return to again and again, and much of the reason is that its Middle Eastern fare is so cheap. For starters, try the baba ghanouj, good for scooping with warm pita. Falafel, shwarma (slices of roast lamb and beef served gyros-style) and grape leaves stuffed with rice, spices and vegetables on Lebanese bread are old standbys that are done well....

This place need to retire. The food is way over priced. I got 1 cup of meat and 1 cup of hommus on a plate and it was $13.50. This could have easily been priced at $8.50. The service staff is non responsive. Waters and drinks sit empty. The falafel appetizers are $7 for 4 little balls. Save your money. Find a different restaurant.
If you are craving some Mediterranean while in Old Town...then by all means...head on over to Od Jerusalem! We loved this place. My wife got the Vegetarian Combination Platter and I had the Meat Combination Platter. Then...we shared out dinners. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again two days later. Oh, since they don't serve alcohol, if you want a some wine or beer, be sure to bring...
Old Jerusalem is an outstanding example of Lebanese and Middle Eastern Food in the heart of Old Town. The quality of the items I had for dinner was exceptional. The Labneh was the best I've tasted, lightly drizzled with olive oil. My entrée of Kefta Kabob was charcoal broiled to perfection with onions, tomatoes and rice. A fresh salad and hefty portion of Lebanese bread were served with the...
Always fresh and consistently good. Delivery time is excellent.
Had plan to frequent one of my fave vegan spots on a recent Sunday evening, but there were closed, so I looked in the area and found Old Jerusalem restaurant! I love the rustic feel and look of the restaurant; right away I knew we were in for a treat. The food is simple middle eastern food - I love...
