Loved the staff doing demonstrations. The kids loved the canon firings. A little out of the way, but worth the trip.

The tour of Old Fort Jackson was with a school group. It was well organized and educational. It's a great site and actually discusses the Civil War, something other historic sites in the South fail to do.

A great way to discover history first hand. Not sure if they do guided tours, but it's surreal to walk through the fort very much like it was over 150 years ago!

Savannah, Charleston, St Augustine, Key West, Pensacola, Mobile share a common denominator. Forts that protected our ports. Fort Jackson remains not as impressive as others but historically significant.
