Olamendi's Laguna Beach

I know, President Nixon came hear a lot during his visits at the "Western White House" here in San Clemente; but, sitting at his favorite table today did not equate to great food.

We've eaten at Olamendi's a number of times over the past 25 years. Friday night it was almost empty at 6:15 pm. Attentive service. Food was bland. We found very good fish soup on their online menu, however when we stopped at the restaurant for dinner they didn't have it on the regular menu. Our waiter said that it still served by request :-) we ordered the soup and it was really good. We also got free appetizer since we mentioned ad online it was freshly prepared...

I remember going to another olamendis near Dana point. It was a few years ago, and it seemed pretty good. We went here because we wanted to watch the football game. The food was average. The pork machaca was not very juicy, the tortillas are not handmade, the margaritas were ok but not special. Staff was very good.

Got lunch there on a Saturday. The food and the ambience is incredible. Not crowded at all - only a handful of people at the restaurant.
