Oilcan Harry's is a gay bar which has been in business for many years. The ambiance is so relaxing with high chairs, comfy couches and more. The staff is one of the best aspects of this bar. OUT Magazine has named Oilcan Harry's one of the "50 Greatest Gay Bars in the World." They have great music with a huge dance floor, where all the people have fun dancing to the sounds of the DJ.
"Beautiful" gay men and their "young, straight women" friends appreciate that there's "lots of room to mingle" and "dance your heart out" at this Warehouse District club; an "engaging staff" provides "heavy pours" for "ok" prices, and a "nice patio" affords views of "all the guys busting a move"; P.S. Sunday is "Funday" thanks to late-night drag shows.
The four-sided bar keeps the well drinks always within reach. That comes in handy when ogling over the pecs of contestants in the Student Body Strip-Off. Or the countless flat screens. Or the Dame Edna lookalikes. This is "the place to be." Emphasis on "be." As in you can stop in with your straight friend. C'mon, who doesn't fancy a look-see at the talent on the other side of the fence?
Its name notwithstanding -- it's known locally as the Can -- this slick Warehouse District bar attracts a clean-cut, upscale, mostly male crowd. Consistently voted Austin's Best Gay Club by readers of the Austin Chronicle, this is the place to go if you're looking for a buttoned-down, Brooks Brothers kind of guy.
