Go somewhere else!

Although the staff at the Chapel of the Roses were courteous, the rest reeks. The saleswoman who made so many false promises was the stinkiest!

Don't go here, find another place who'll take care of your dearly departed with dignity & respect. This corporate gravedigger will take you to the cleaners!

Thank you Oak hill

I attended my good friends burial this past weekend and had an opportunity to speak on behalf of him. Our service ran longer than expected and I appreciate the patience the workers showed with our group. Sadly to say, I've been to the park for other services, including my Uncles, but the services provided by the park have been nothing short of excellent.

I thank you, my family thanks you

re: bad service

I am Leigh Seto and I am a family service counselor here at the park.

This family used an outside funeral home, not Oakhill. The funeral director of the outside mortuary informed me he would be present at the inurnment. Our Oakhill Cemetery staff was ready for the internment and the director did not show up. At the time of the service, I was at a meeting with a family that was making arrangements for their deceased. When I was told of the situation by someone in our staff I immediately went to see the Douat family (which was upset, rightfully so) so I then got on the phone to contact the director. He did not answer any of my 5 phone calls (which I made throughout the remainder of the day. I called the family over the next 3 days just to see if they heard anything, because the director never called me back. When the director finally did contact me, he informed me he brought the permit and vault one week prior. I was never notified. He could have given me a phone call, he could have made our receptionist aware of who the counselor that was working with the family was, so they could page me (which I always carry) when he did stop by.

What is frustrating is that I was never called on my cell phone, my pager, or at my desk, while everything was going on. I would have done anything to help them. I didn't know anything was wrong until 2 hours after the service was to take place. As far as I knew the director was with the family and the service was completed.

All of Oakhill funeral services are overseen by our professional staff of funeral directors to guide the family through the internment process. In this case, it was not our funeral director. I try to attend the services of all my families out of respect to the family, but when I am on duty, I have to serve the families at-need to help them do their arrangements. As a counselor, I help families make arrangements and serve them the best that I can.

I feel terrible for this family, it was a very unfortunate situation.

Oak hill

Oak Hill Memorial Park & Mortuary* was founded in 1839, and is California’s oldest secular cemetery. Today, as a proud member of the Dignity Memorial national network, we are devoted to exceeding expectations and providing a standard of service that is 100 percent guaranteed.

Occupying approximately 330 acres, our beautifully-landscaped grounds provide a peaceful and serene setting which features lovely flowers; numerous mausoleums; a variety of memorials and both flush-to-the-ground and upright monuments. In addition to our cemetery, our attractively furnished funeral home provides families the convenience of funeral services close to the place of burial, as well as two beautiful Chapels, exceptional service and a caring and professional staff with Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Hindi, Greek and Tagalog-speaking capabilities.

As an added service, we are closely affiliated with Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, Lima Family Sunnyvale Mortuary, Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, Lima Family Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Redwood Chapel and White Oaks Chapel.

I like coming here for long, quiet walks. Very well-maintained and clean. I don't know anyone who's buried here, for the record.

Unprofessional, incompetent, disrespectful! This was the worst business transaction of my life, I cannot say enough bad things about this establishment. They never make me a priority, even though I told them I needed to send my dad's remains to Mexico as soon as possible. Amy was cocky and …
