Northwoods Care Ctr

I have tried calling up there to talk to my mom and no one answers the phone. She will put her call light on to go potty and she has sat there for 20 minutes and in the meantime she wets herself. I noticed that people are putting 5 star's for this place, and the one's that are doing it work there. I'm not saying all the people who work there, but some of them are.

This place is a last resort to put your loved one. We were unhappy with the care my father received at this facility and worked hard to get him out of there. He hated it and so did we. Staff routinely ignores call buttons for lengthy periods of time. I have seen as many as 6 call lights going off for more than half an hour with staff sitting at the desk completely ignoring them. I have worked at northwoods for 30 plus years. I love the residents and families, they become like my extended family. I enjoy the relationships I have with them. My co-workers are also like family, the team work is phenomenal. Not only do I work at NORTHWOODS but my grandfather and mother were also patients here and the care they received was top notch.

My mother was there in May. The care is minimal at best. Took 10 days for them to help her with shower. One day, no attendant would help her until the urine was running on to the floor under her wheel chair. And, that was when I was with her 12 hours a day to advocate for her and take care of many needs. In rehab, they confused her with another patient and put her through the wrong...
